GET A PHONE NUMBER FOR YOUR PAID ITIM TEXT [via Google voice]
(IMPORTANT: IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE A GOOGLE VOICE ACCOUNT AND NUMBER, YOU CAN GET ONE FOR FREE BUT IT MUST BE DONE FROM A COMPUTER, do not use your ipod or ipad or iphone).

Required: Get iTim Text Unlimited in the AppStore HERE or Get the Free Version with Ads HERE
If you haven't already done so, download the iTim Text App in the App Store. Here's the link: http://itim.me/text or just search for itim text.
Step 1: Go the More Section and Save your Google Voice Info
{Important: make sure your Username/Password in Pic 1 below is your Gmail}
Don't have a google voice account? Get one at http://google.com/voice ....it's free!

3. Turn ON Use GV |

Result: It should login successful and show Active and show GV Number (Ex. 3105551212)
Important: if GV Number shows CLIENT_ONLY, it means you have not completed your google voice setup. Go to http://google.com/voice and click "get a voice number" and complete the steps to get a number...it's free! Then repeat step 1.

Step 2: Add Receiving for your Google Voice
[a] You can click the either click Activate Receiving GV in iTim Text App and click Continue (step b is easier)
OR
[b] -> [ Click Here TO ADD @itim to GV] <- to add your @iTim address (you might be required to log in).
[c] Your itim address is your nickname @itim.me (Ex. jamesbond007@itim.me).
[d] Put in your @itim.me address in the text box (make sure it is all lowercase)
[e] Click Save.
After you click save, you wil receive a text to verify your itim address in your itim app.
To verify your @itim.me address with your Google Account, Simply click the message bubble, and click the link.
clicking link will take your to the google voice verify page, enter your password to confirm.
FINAL STEP 3. Activate Push Alerts For GV Receiving.
Do this from your iTim App in the More Section: {important: Enter your Gmail address as GV username in 2b in the middle picture.}

You are done. Now your friends can text your gv number or leave you a voicemail and you will get an itim new message and you can view your message in itim app.
If you get an error after finalizing...it means you did not complete your google voice setup GO HERE FOR MORE INFO.
That's it, you should now have a new number for your itim app.
Let's make sure, test it:
Send a Friend a Text (no pics), they should get it showing your GV number. Then have your friend reply,....if you get it then your setup is complete. Enjoy !!!!

STEP 4. And You are done. You can Start Texting with iTim and it will show your GV number

Give your friends your google voice number and have them send an text to your google voice number. You will get it in your itim app. Now, whenever you text your friend, your google voice number will show up when you use itim.
Voicemail: Now when you receive a voicemail, you will get it in your itim text app including the transcript and the audio. You can even reply to the person who left the message with a text or an MMS message.
STEP 5. Receiving MMS (GV number + @itim.me = 3105551212@itim.me ...... MMS Capable)
a. (Update 10/16/11 **NEW** ) If your friends have SPRINT, they CAN send MMS (photos/videos/etc) to your Google Voice Number and you will get it your itim in their conversation.
b. All your other friends simply have to add "@itim.me" to the end of your Google Voice Number and send the MMS (Ex. they text the photo to 3105551212@itim.me). MUST BE SENT AS TEXT/MMS (NOT EMAIL).
c. they can reply to an itim mms msg you sent them already with a photo or video message and you will receive it directly in your iTim Text App.
d. Or Your friends can text the word "@photo" to your Google Voice number and they will get an auto-text asking them to reply with a photo or video. When they reply with the photo/video, you will get it.

a. If you have activated step 3 successfully, and the info that says "Active but not Receiving GV!", then you are using an old version of iTim. Please update it by going to http://itim.me/text
b. If you might get a GV sending error msg when you try sending to another itim user, then you are using an old version of iTim. Please update it by going to http://itim.me/text
c. If you get an error after finalizing in step 4, it means that you did not complete your google voice setup. Make sure you completed the phone verify step.
